Midfielder Shaun Byrne joined on a season-long loan for 2023/24, before penning a permanent deal on 12th June 2024.

Shaun started his career at Celtic as a youth player before moving to Dunfermline Athletic in 2008.

After spending a few seasons in the youth ranks, he made his first-team debut in 2012 in a Scottish League Cup match against Montrose.

His first league appearance came soon after in a 2–0 victory over Dumbarton, and he earned his first start in a Fife Derby.

Shaun scored his first goal for Dunfermline in a 3-2 defeat to Arbroath during the 2013/14 season.

After winning the Scottish League One title, he was released by the club at the end of the 2015/16 season.

In the summer of 2016, Shaun signed for Livingston, who were then in Scottish League One.

He played a key role in their back-to-back promotions, helping them move up to the Scottish Premiership after defeating Partick Thistle in the play-offs.

Shaun signed for Dundee in June 2019, helping them achieve promotion to the Premiership in 2021 after winning the Premiership play-offs.

He suffered a knee ligament injury in October 2021, but after a successful recovery, he signed a contract extension with Dundee in January 2022.

He reached 100 competitive appearances for Dundee and played a part in their Scottish Championship title-clinching win in 2023.

Shaun was released by Dundee at the end of the season and despite interest from other Championship clubs, rejoined Raith on a permanent two-year contract.

Shaun’s current deal runs until May 2026.
