Although many of us are looking forward to the festive season, it’s worth remembering that this is an especially difficult time for people that are struggling financially. Many people find themselves in very difficult situations, often through no fault of their own, and can face immense pressure to choose between things like eating and buying gifts for their loved ones.

With Kirkcaldy Foodbank collecting at the game at Stark’s Park this Saturday, rather than spend money on Christmas cards for each other, the RRFC office staff instead took the money they would have spent on them to the supermarket where they filled up a trolley. This will be donated to the Foodbank on Saturday.

If you can afford it, we would encourage you to put a few extra items in your basket when you’re doing your shopping over the next couple of days, and bring them along to the game on Saturday. Donations don’t just have to be food – they can be things like kitchen and toilet rolls, cleaning equipment, toiletries, etc.
