RRFC is Proud to Support Charitable Causes
Ben and Finlay Stevens are ten-year-old identical twins from Dunfermline who at two years old were diagnosed with severe autism and a learning disability. The boys still cannot talk. Their parents, Mike and Fiona, were determined to give the boys every opportunity of reaching their potential and embarked on a development programme focussed on teaching the boys basic living and communications skills.
Mike & Fiona have to fund this important therapy themselves and one of their fundraising activities is ‘Ben and Finlay’s 12 Days of Christmas’ auction, where friends and family and local businesses donate items for folks to bid on over the first 12 days of December. Last year’s event raised a magnificent £6,500, which gives Mike and Fiona some certainty that they will be able to continue with the boys’ programme.
Raith Rovers are delighted to have been able to contribute to the boys’ auction and be a part of their fantastic progress.
Dad Mike would like to thank the club for their support. He said, “the journey we are on with our boys is life changing for us as a family. Without the support of organisations such as Raith Rovers we would not be able to continue with Ben and Finlay’s programme. This has transformed our lives and enabled the boys to do and achieve things we were told would not be possible when they were first diagnosed. With your help, we look forward to continuing to give them every opportunity of reaching their potential. Thank you so much again to everyone associated with this fantastic fundraiser!”
Ben and Finlay are one of many charitable causes that Raith Rovers supports and we will continue to help as many as we can.
