Raith Rovers vs Greenock Morton
Line Up
Report
Rovers go joint top with 0-0 draw
Greenock Morton were by far the better side in the opening stages of the game, mostly dominating the possession and creating the first half chance, after Strapp’s long throw came back out to him, and he hit a volley that was well blocked by Scott Brown.
Raith took a while to even get out of the defensive third, but when they did, they tested MacDonald, after Easton found Liam Dick at the far post where he looked like he was trying to square the ball to a teammate, but instead it went towards goal, however it was well saved by the former Raith man.
Both sides struggled to create any sort of chance, until late in the half when Raith had 2 big moments, the first being a Euan Murray left footed strike was blocked from just outside the 6-yard box. The second moment was a massive penalty shout, when Hamilton’s header seemed to strike the arm of Strapp, but it was not given.
Half time: Raith Rovers 0 – 0 Greenock Morton
Morton came out in the same fashion for the second half as they did in the first, they created another chance from a Strapp long throw met by the head of Baird, and his glancing header flew just past the post.
Morton very nearly scored late in the game with a Strapp volley from outside the penalty box looking destined for goal until the ball struck his own teammate putting the ball wrong side of the post.
Morton completely dominated the second half in terms of creating chances, and they created the last chance of the game in the last seconds of the game after a cross from a corner found Baird at the far post, but he could not get a clean enough connection on the ball to trouble Dabrowski.
Full time: Raith Rovers 0 – 0 Greenock Morton
