Following a string of mature, confident performances already this season, manager Gary Locke has rewarded midfielder Ross Matthews (20) with an improved contract and a two year extension that will see him stay at Stark’s Park until at least the summer of 2019.

Having signed 3 1/2 years ago as an apprentice professional within the club’s youth development set up, Ross has gone on to become an established member of the 1st team squad over the last 12 / 18 months.

Gaffer Locke commented, “It’s great that the club is able to bring youngsters through the ranks from the youth set up to the first team. Recently we improved and extended Ross Callachan’s contract and now we have rewarded Ross Matthews’ progress with an improved and extended deal. Hopefully, if as many supporters as possible agree to back the club through the Player Development Fund, there will be more young men like the two Rosses breaking through into the 1st team in the years ahead.”
