Man of the Match Connor O’Riordan v Dundee

The club can confirm that central defender Connor O’Riordan has been recalled by his parent club Crewe Alexandra FC from his loan spell at Raith Rovers.

With Connor’s loan spell set to end on 1st January 2023, Crewe made contact with the player and Rovers manager Ian Murray late yesterday (Wednesday 28th December 2022) to advise that, as there had been a number of injuries to defenders in their squad, they would require Connor to return to his parent club before their next game (against Carlisle at The Mornflake Stadium this evening).

Raith Rovers would like to place on record their Thanks to Crewe Alexandra for their assistance in loaning Connor, and to the player himself who has impressed throughout his 4 and a half month spell at Stark’s Park. Connor played 21 matches for The Rovers since joining on loan on August 5th, during which time he played in every minute of every match he was selected for.

Manager Ian Murray was full of praise for the young defender, telling RaithTV earlier today “Connor has been great for us this season, it’s been a great experience for him playing here. I spoke to him earlier today and he said how much he had enjoyed his time with us”.

Best of Luck for the future Connor!
