Preparations for the new season continue apace, and www.raithrovers.net can now bring you an update on various behind the scenes goings-on.

Firstly, we are pleased to announce that promising full back Sean Mackie is the first player to graduate to Raith Rovers from the Fife Elite Football Academy. The youngster joins Raith Rovers as an apprentice professional and will hook up with the squad when pre season training begins in 2 1/2 weeks time.

Meanwhile, Grant Johnson and Darren Taylor who were with Ray McKinnon at Brechin, will join Laurie Ellis and Wayne Henderson in our backroom team.

We can also confirm full details of our pre season friendlies fixture schedule, which has been amended since the original announcements:-

Sat 4 July 3.00pm – Brechin City (H)

Tues 7 July 7.45pm – Heart of Midlothian (H)

Sun 12 July 3.00pm – Aberdeen (H)

Wed 15 July 7.45pm – Dundee (H)

Sat 18 July 3.00pm – East Fife (A)

Wednesday 22 July 7.45pm – Celtic XI (H) to mark naming of Turnbull Hutton Stand

NB – the away match against Spartans, originally scheduled for 14 July, has been postponed until a later date.

Rovers manager George Farm leaves his role after 3 years in charge to move to East End Park to take over from Willie Cunningham who had just taken the Pars to Scottish Cup glory. Farm was born in Slateford Edinburgh and briefly played for Hibs before moving to Blackpool.
