Signing News: Kevin Nisbet & Nathan Flanagan

Wednesday July 11th 2018

Kevin (l) and Nathan (r) at Forthbank last night

Raith Rovers last night finalised the signing of 2 more players to add to the first team squad.

Striker Kevin Nisbet has been on trial with Rovers since the start of pre-season training, and has signed a 1 year contract. Kevin impressed in the recent friendly v Dunfermline (where he set up the opening goal and won the penalty for the winning strike) and the closed doors game v former team Partick Thistle (where he scored).

A skilful striker, Kevin is aged 21 and has been at Partick Thistle since 2014. He has also played for East Stirling, Ayr and Dumbarton on loan from the Firhill side.

Wide midfielder Nathan Flanagan has also been training with the squad, and has signed a contract until January.

21 year old Nathan started off in the Hearts youth system, before moving to St Mirren u20s.  Whilst at the Championship winners, Nathan was loaned out to SPFL League 1 and League 2 teams Annan Athletic, East Fife and Elgin City.

Both signings were finalised before last nights closed doors game at Stirling.

Manager Barry Smith said “Both players have impressed in training and games in pre-season. They are also young and hungry for success and are keen to make their mark at Raith Rovers, which falls in line with myself and Kevin Cuthbert’s approach to the coming season”

Tommy Hislop is signed from Clachmannan. He stayed with Rovers for 8 seasons and made 268 appearances and scored 8 times.
