The Raith Supporters Trust has announced that Val McDermid will be the star of the show at this season’s annual Burns Supper on 28th January at the Dean Park Hotel.

The event is in its third year and previous headliners have included Frank Connor, Jock McStay and Scottish actor Tam Dean Burn. Supporters Trust Chairman Alan Russell said “Our Burns Night is always a great night with a little bit of Burns, a little bit of Raith Rovers and a lot of laughs. The event last year was a huge success with manager Ray McKinnon hosting a Q&A and Tam Dean Burn providing a stunning Immortal Memory. Tam’s late brother Philip played for the club in the nineties and his emotional tribute to him had more than a few of us reaching for the hankies. We knew he would be a hard act to follow so that is why we are delighted that Val McDermid has agreed to be our guest of honour at the Burns Supper this year. Val is a diehard Rovers fan and always hugely entertaining”

Tickets which would make the ideal Christmas present are priced at just £25 (£20 for Trust members) which includes a full meal and a night of entertainment. They go on sale at the Supporters Trust table this Saturday or are available to buy online atwww.raithtrust.org.uk
