Raith Rovers is pleased to announce that two graduates from the Fife Elite Football Academy have been signed as Raith Rovers players. The players, James Berry and Ryan Stevenson, have signed professional contracts and will complete a two year Modern Apprenticeship in the first instance.

Stephen Wright, the Head of Coaching at Fife Elite Football Academy, said, “This is exactly what all the coaches involved with the Fife Academy want to see, young players that we’ve worked with, who have real talent and the right attitude, being given the opportunity to continue their development within a professional football club.”

Tom Phillips, the RRFC Director with responsibility for Youth Development commented, “It’s pleasing to see players starting to sign for us who will be part of the Raith Rovers Development Squad. The Club is committed to building the Development squad over the next two seasons and beyond as it is seen as the best way to to ensure that young players who sign for Raith Rovers have a real chance of developing into players who are available for selection by the first team manager. However, this is just the beginning of building the squad. Once we have the new Development Squad Coach in place, there will be further signings.”

For James Berry, it was a particularly proud moment signing for his hometown club. James is a lifelong supporter of the team and he first signed for the Raith Rovers Youth Academy at the tender age of ten!
