Last season’s top goalscorer Mark Stewart has penned a new 2 year deal that will keep him at the club until 2017. The popular striker, who bagged 10 goals in the season just ended, met with new manager Ray McKinnon on Monday afternoon. Mark had had approaches from 2 other Scottish clubs, and there was also a possibility of a move down south to consider, but the conversation with the gaffer convinced him that Stark’s Park was the place he wanted to stay.

Mark is pictured in this morning’s Fife Free Press promoting season tickets, which continue on sale from Stark’s Park during office hours. Indeed, to ‘mark’ the occasion, the club has decided that everyone purchasing a ticket between now and 5 June, and who is able to produce the voucher in this week’s FFP, will be entered in to a prize draw with one lucky winner having the cost of their season ticket refunded!

Commenting on today’s developments, Chief Executive Eric Drysdale said, “This is the beginning of the Ray McKinnon era at Stark’s Park. This season may not have finished yet but we are eagerly preparing for next season already. It’s vital that Rovers fans do show their support for the new manager by buying even more season tickets than they have already, as this will help us provide funds to Ray to bring in some fresh faces. With the prize draw announced today there’s no better time to get yourself down to Stark’s Park and match Mark Stewart’s commitment to Raith Rovers!!”
