Raith Rovers is delighted to announce the signing of Zak Delaney, who joins the club on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old left-back has been training with the squad throughout pre-season and featured as a second-half substitute in our first friendly against Hamilton Academical.

Having spent the previous two years with Greenock Morton, working under Dougie Imrie, the Irishman is relishing the opportunity for a new challenge.

He said: “I’m delighted to be here! I’ve played here many times, so I’m excited to be on the right side of things with the fans behind me.

“I worked with the gaffer for 18 months and I feel I played really well under him. I enjoy the way he works and I’m excited to get going. He called me on Monday night and said he wanted to get something sorted for me, so he asked me to come in the next day and be around the group to hit the ground running. I’ve loved the training, it’s been tough but really enjoyable, and the lads have been brilliant.

“I’m excited to get the games going, but it’s been good to get minutes in the legs and come out of it fit and healthy, ready for the competitive games.”

Zak began his career in his native Ireland before earning a move to England, joining the youth ranks at West Bromwich Albion at the age of 16.

In 2022, Zak would depart the Baggies in the search of first-team football, finding himself at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, where he would quickly establish himself as an important player, making 30 appearances in his maiden Championship season.

The full-back joined fellow Championship side Arbroath in January 2024 before signing for Morton that summer.

A first-team regular, Zak made 82 appearances across all competitions during his time at Cappielow before departing the club this summer.

Welcome to the Rovers, Zak!
