WELCOME JOSH GENTLES!
We are thrilled to confirm that Joshua Gentles has joined us on loan from Rangers as part of our ongoing cooperation agreement with the Ibrox club.
Josh commented:
“It’s been a move I’ve had interest in for a while now so I’m just buzzing to get going now.
I spoke to the manager and Potts (John Potter), and believe that the way they want us to play will fit my style well.
Hopefully this is a move that will both benefit my own development and help the Club push for their goals.“
The highly rated 17-year-old striker arrives with glowing reviews after impressing during a recent loan spell at Alloa Athletic, where he gained valuable first-team experience in League One.
Josh is already making a name for himself in Scottish football despite his young age.
Having spent the second half of last season at Alloa, he made 14 league appearances, with six goal contributions that showcased both his finishing ability and maturity in the final third.
On the international stage, Josh has represented Wales across multiple youth levels, most recently with the U19 squad, further underlining his pedigree and potential.
Josh’s footballing journey began at a very young age.
After early spells with Erskine and then St. Mirren, he made the step up to Rangers at just seven years old.
Over the last decade, he has risen through the ranks and developed into a versatile and intelligent centre-forward.
Josh is equally comfortable playing just off the striker or dropping deeper to link play, with his game heavily influenced by Harry Kane, a player he openly admires and models his style on.
Josh thrives on timing runs in behind defences, dropping short to link play, intelligent movement in and around the penalty area, and clinical finishing, which he considers his strongest attribute.
Josh adds youth, energy, and a proven eye for goal to our attacking options.
We are delighted to welcome Josh to the Club and look forward to seeing his development continue at Stark’s Park.
