WELCOME DOUGIE IMRIE!
Raith Rovers Football Club is excited to announce the appointment of Dougie Imrie as our new Manager.
Dougie commented:
“I’m seriously delighted to be here and I can’t wait to get started today.
The ambition of the Board and the supporters was clear from the first conversation.
I know the squad, I know the league, and I want to get this group believing and achieving again.
My aim is to reconnect the Club and the supporters, play with intensity, and get this team winning games again.
I want to get this place rocking.“
Dougie joins the Club on a two and a half year deal following an extensive recruitment process over the past couple of weeks, during which he impressed as the outstanding candidate.
He showed real passion and a clear understanding of our squad and ambitions, outlining how he plans to build on the strong foundations already in place while implementing his own ideas.
Few managers know the league better than Dougie, and he presented a clear plan for taking our team forward.
To support him in his new role, Dougie will be joined by Andy Millen as Assistant Manager, having worked closely together at Greenock Morton for four years.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Morton for their cooperation in getting the deal finalised.
Chairman Colin Smart commented:
“From the moment we began our discussions, it was clear that Dougie was the standout candidate to take this club forward. His drive, ambition, and energy along with his CV aligned with our vision in what we want Raith Rovers to be.
We’re delighted to welcome Dougie and his assistant, Andy Millen, to Stark’s Park and we’re all looking forward to working closely with them in the months and years ahead.
I’d also like to place on record our sincere thanks to Paul Hanlon and John Potter for their professionalism and leadership over the past two weeks in guiding the team through an important spell.“
Born in Lanark, Dougie arrives with a strong managerial pedigree and a respected playing career behind him.
Since taking charge of Morton in December 2021, he built the Club into a competitive Championship force, consistently getting the best out of his players and creating teams renowned for their work rate, organisation, and resilience.
His Morton sides earned a reputation for being hard to break down and beat, highlighted by a remarkable 16-match unbeaten run during the 2023/24 season, which included a memorable Scottish Cup victory over Motherwell.
We look forward to welcoming Dougie and Andy to Stark’s Park and supporting them as they begin this exciting new chapter with the Club.
Welcome to Raith Rovers, Dougie Imrie.
