Welcome Anton Dowds!
Raith Rovers is pleased to announce the signing of Anton Dowds on a one-year deal.
The 29-year-old striker joins the club following a spell with Ayr United, where he featured from 2023 to 2026.
No stranger to Rovers supporters, Anton has scored eight goals in 20 appearances against the club during his career, so are delighted to have him on our side going forward!
A powerful attacker, Anton will add further strength, physicality and a keen eye for goal to our attack, linking up once again with former Ayr United strike partner George Oakley in Kirkcaldy.
The Edinburgh-born forward began his career with Heriot Watt University before making the move into the SPFL with East Fife in 2018. After impressing at Bayview, he earned a move to Falkirk, where he spent two seasons. During that time, he also enjoyed a loan spell with Arbroath, scoring five goals in 17 appearances during his first taste of Championship football.
A season with Partick Thistle followed before he joined Ayr United on loan in September 2023. The move was made permanent in 2024, and he remained at Somerset Park until this summer.
