Lewis Stevenson signed for Raith Rovers on 30th May 2024.
Kirkcaldy born and bred, Lewis joined the Hibernian youth academy at the age of 14 and represented Scotland schoolboys in 2003.
After his debut for Hibernian in a Scottish League Cup match against Ayr United in September 2005, he made his Scottish Premier League debut in the 2006/07 season.
Under manager John Collins, Lewis became a key figure in the team and was named man of the match in Hibernian’s 2007 Scottish League Cup Final victory.
He scored his first professional goal for the club in February 2011, after over 100 appearances without scoring, in a 2–0 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
By the 2011/12 season, he had established himself as a regular starter and won the fans’ player of the year award despite Hibs’ challenging season.
A broken toe in the 2012/13 season kept Lewis out for a time, but he returned ahead of schedule and impressed with his versatility in defence, filling in at both left-back and right-back.
His strong performances, particularly in a Scottish Cup win over Hearts, led to a new two-year contract in March 2013.
In 2013, Lewis marked his 200th competitive appearance for Hibs and later achieved his 250th appearance in a Scottish Cup win against Arbroath, even captaining the team for the match.
He also scored his fourth career goal in a 2–0 win against Rangers.
Lewis was part of the Hibs team that made history by winning the 2015/16 Scottish Cup, defeating Rangers 3–2 in the final.
This victory made him the first player to win both of Scotland’s national cup competitions with Hibernian.
After helping Hibs gain promotion to the Premiership in 2017, Lewis signed a two-year contract with the club and played a testimonial match against Sunderland.
In 2018/19, he won Hibs’ Supporters’ Association Player of the Year award.
By 2021, Lewis reached 500 competitive appearances for the club, leading to a contract extension until 2022.
In 2023, he set a club record with his 450th league appearance and in April 2023, he scored his first goal in nearly five years in a 1–1 draw at St Johnstone.
In May 2023, he signed another contract for the 2023/24 season and Lewis made his 600th appearance for Hibs in a 3–0 win against Motherwell in May 2024.
After his long service to Hibernian, Lewis signed a two-year contract with Raith Rovers in May 2024, marking a new chapter in his career at his hometown club.
Lewis’ current contract runs until May 2026.
