George Oakley signed for Raith Rovers in the summer of 2026, following two seasons with Ayr United.

The Englishman began his career with AFC Wimbledon, having rose through the youth ranks with the South London club.

George would take his first steps in the Scottish game in 2017, when he joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle, where he remained for two seasons, before joining Hamilton Accies. It was during his time at New Douglas Park that he would first cross paths with Dougie Imrie, then teammate at the Scottish Premiership club.

After a season with the Accies, George would have spells in Bulgaria and England, alongside as well as Kilmarnock and Inverness CT in Scotland.

George would be reunited with Dougie Imrie during the 23/24 season at Greenock Morton, scoring an impressive 15 league goals. He would take that form into his first season with Ayr United, where he was named in the 2024/25 PFA Team of the Season.

The striker’s 2025/26 campaign was unfortunately blighted with injury and after his Ayr United contract came to end, was our first addition in the summer of 2026.
