As the new management team start to look towards the future, one of our RaithTV team is setting his sights on the past.

With July 1st 2016 marking the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, Davie Hancock will be making an epic journey, cycling from Stark’s Park to Contalmaison in France as a mark of respect for the sacrifices made by all our players and fans who fought in the First World War.

Particular focus is given to our players and fans who fought shoulder to shoulder as members of McCrae’s Battalion. Raith Rovers as a club are proud of our link to the Sporting Battalion led by Sir George McCrae and our RemembeR strip has been worn with pride for the past two seasons in recognition their contributions and sacrifice.

With over 1200km of cycling ahead of him Davie was in need of some training support so Raith Rovers arranged for our club motivator to lend a hand…

The video shows that Roary Rover has done his bit, if possible please donate whatever you feel able to assist with the fundraising for the McCrae’s Battallion Trust.
