Kirkcaldy’s biggest annual music event, Rock The Rovers, returns for its 9th year on Sunday August 25th.

The event, which raises funds for both Raith Rovers and a number of charities, takes place at Kitty’s/Kandy in Kirkcaldy. Doors open at 12:30pm, with the first acts on stage from 1pm.

Day Passes are priced £10, and are now on sale from Styx (Victoria Road) and the Fife Free Press office (Kirk Wynd).

This year’s charities are Balwearie High Department of Additional Support, C.L.A.P.A, SANDS & Rett Syndrome Scotland. Since 2005, dozens of charities have benefited from Rock the Rovers.

At last year’s event, over £4,000 was raised. Cheques for £500 each were presented to representatives of The Neuro Foundation, Diabetes UK, Fife Young Carers, Alzheimers Scotland and Dyslexia Fife, along with £2,000 to Raith Rovers FC.

This year’s acts include: THE CAVALIERS, BAD BOOGALOO, SCOONIE BRAE, ANDY CHUNG, CHARLES WOOD, THE BLIND LIGHTS, SLIPSTREAM, RANTUM SCANTUM, GAVIN PATRICK, FOLK THAT, NO.1 SUN, COUSIN KEN`S NEPHEWS, STATE OF EMERGENCY, STEPH, LIONSPIRITMUSIC, MARK GRANT, THE SHINE, MICKEY 9`s, ALEX CLARKE & NATALIE GALLOWAY.

The event is only suitable for those aged 18, and Raith colours can be worn on the day.
