Robbo the Rover!

Raith Rovers Football Club is delighted to announce that John Robertson will join the club upon the expiry of his contract at East Kilbride

The 24-year-old winger will sign for the Rovers on a two-year deal.

After penning his contract, John said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be signing. It’s a massive club and I can’t wait to get going.

“When the gaffer phoned me about coming to the club, it was something I was interested in. I wanted to finish the season off strong with East Kilbride and when that was done, I got the contract signed and now I’m ready to go!

“You’re going to be getting an exciting winger and I can’t wait to get scoring some goals in front of the Rovers fans. Hopefully we’ll be up there next season.”

Robertson enjoyed a title-winning campaign with East Kilbride this season, scoring 32 goals in all competitions. As a reward for his excellent form, he was also named PFA League Two Player of the Season.

A right-winger by trade, Robertson is known for his powerful left-foot and will be remembered by Rovers fans, having scored a hat-trick against us in the League Cup this season.

Robertson began his career with St Johnstone, making a handful of appearances for the first team. It was at Edinburgh City where the he made his mark, helping the club secure promotion to League One in 2022. After scoring double figures in the third tier, Robertson earned a move to Linfield in 2023.

His time in Northern Ireland proved to be short, as he returned to Scotland to sign for East Kilbride in October 2023. Three straight league titles followed for Robertson, including back-to-back promotions over the last two seasons.

Robertson’s last campaign proved especially fruitful, as he bagged 32 goals in all competitions, being named as the PFA League Two Player of the Year.
