After a point on the road against Partick Thistle last Saturday, Raith Rovers are back at Stark’s Park this weekend, as they welcome Livingston on Friday evening.
The West Lothian club are back under the temporary stewardship of David Martindale, after he took over following the departure of Glenn Whelan who left the club following a defeat to Stenhousemuir at the start of September.
This will be Martindale’s third game back in charge of the club, and so far he’s presided over a 4-1 win over Morton and a 2-2 draw with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Those points have taken Livi to fifth in the table, two points outside the playoffs and two ahead of sixth placed Ayr United.
Raith Rovers on the other hand are still second, but are now five points behind a Stenhousemuir side who have won every league game since drawing with Rovers on the opening day of the season.
With Livingston back in the Championship after spending last season in the top flight, this will be the clubs first meeting in 18 months, a fairly drab 0-0 draw back in March 2025.
While Livingston held the upper hand in the 24/25 season with two wins and a draw, Rovers did win the last time the two sides met in Kirkcaldy back in December 2024.
Dylan Easton and Aidan Connolly had Rovers two up within half an hour, and while a Stevie May penalty halved the deficit midway through the second half, the home side hung on to take all three points.
Friday evening’s match referee will be Duncan Nicolson.
