Match Preview

Raith Rovers make their first journey to the new look Lesser Hampden this weekend, as they travel to Glasgow to take on Queen’s Park.

The Spiders sit ninth in the table, three points ahead of Airdrieonians and a point behind Ross County, who were the last side they defeated up in Dingwall on the 20th of September.

Since then, Sean Crighton’s side have gone seven games without a win, with scoring goals their biggest problem with just two scored during that winless streak.

However, that spell has also coincided with an injury to key forward Josh Fowler, who made his first start since the beginning of October, albeit he was unable to prevent his side going down to a 5-0 loss at Partick Thistle.

However, with 10 goals to his name already this season in just 14 appearances, he’s clearly the player Raith need to closely keep an eye on.

There may also be some familiar faces in the home starting XI too, with former Rovers stalwarts Euan Murray and Aidan Connolly both regular starters for Queen’s.

The previous meeting this season was the opening day of the season at Stark’s Park, where the sides drew 1-1 thanks to a penalty apiece, with Michael Ruth opening the scoring for Queen’s before Dylan Easton equalised for Raith.

It may be a good thing for Rovers that the game is in Glasgow, as they’ve now went four home games without a win over Saturday’s opponents, but are unbeaten in five away games against the hosts.

Saturday’s match referee will be Calum Scott.

Head-To-Head Record:

Raith Rovers wins: 55

Queen’s Park wins: 37

Draws: 29
