Queen’s Baton Relay Visits Fife
With less than a month to go until Glasgow hosts the Commonwealth Games – Scotland’s biggest ever sporting event – the Queen’s Baton Relay passed through Fife today.
The Baton, which contains a message from the Queen to be read at the opening ceremony, is travelling through 400 communities across Scotland carried by nearly 4,000 batonbearers. It’s already travelled nearly 200,000km around the World through 70 countries and territories!
The Baton stopped off for lunch at the Michael Woods Sports Centre in Glenrothes, Raith Rovers’ training facility. Roary Rover went along, and met up with Fife Sports and Leisure mascot Archie and Commonwealth Games’ mascot Clyde.
