The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on 25th May 2018 with the aim to provide consistency and standardisation for EU Member States on the processing and use of personal data. Under this ruling, Raith Rovers Football Club Limited is legally obligated to protect any personal information which it holds. This document explains our procedures for obtaining, retaining, access and use of this data related to our supporters and those visiting our website.

PROTECTING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION (DATA PROTECTION)

Raith Rovers Football Club has a legal responsibility to protect any personal information that we may hold on any person. The information we hold is used only to allow us to: meet any legal obligations, contact or communicate with you, and fulfil any orders successfully for any products/ services we offer.

The information we collect from you, our supporters, is retained by us when:

  • Registering for our weekly e-newsletter Rovers Digest
  • Purchasing a season ticket
  • Registering for RaithTV Live match video and/or audio streaming
  • Registering your child for The Roary Club
  • Contributing to our Player Development Fund
  • Signing up online for Rovers Super Lotto
  • Purchasing from our online shop
  • Purchasing our hospitality as lead contact
  • Purchasing any commercial/ sponsorship as lead contact

This information will normally only relate to your personal details, such as your name, postal address, email address, phone number and your date of birth. This information is solely retained by Raith Rovers Football Club and is never passed to any external or third parties for marketing purposes.

Your personal information is handled and stored in a secure manner. Only those authorised by the club have access to your information, and for the purposes intended. While it is not possible for any company to fully guarantee systems cannot be compromised, we take all reasonable efforts to ensure our systems are secured against unauthorised access.

We use third-parties to process payment information. Where we use third-parties, there are agreements in place to ensure they process your information securely.

HOW WILL WE USE THE INFORMATION ABOUT YOU?

The main reason which we collect supporter information is to communicate with you and provide you with the products or services for which you have asked us to. Every football club needs to have a strong relationship with its supporter base and this information helps us to do so.

In order to deliver any product or services to you as requested, we may send your details to third parties such as technology providers that we use to arrange payment from. Under GDPR terminology, Raith Rovers would be a data controller for supporter information (where a controller determines the purposes and means of processing personal data) and our third-party providers would be data processors (where a processor is responsible for processing personal data on behalf of a controller). Data processors have specific legal obligations to store your information securely and in confidence, and only process any information under specific instructions by Raith Rovers.

We are grateful for the positive dialogue and interaction we have with all our supporters and we aim to continue building on our relationship. This is why we retain your personal information as long as you allow us to. We will make sure that your privacy is protected and only use it for those intended purposes.

At any time, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. We also encourage our supporters to keep us informed of any changes in personal data (e.g. postal address) so please do contact us and ask for any information which we hold, and advise if you wish this amended for accuracy.

COOKIES

We use cookies on this website to improve your experience and to help deliver the services you sign up for. We also use a number of third-party services, which may set a cookie on your computer. These include:

  • We host our RaithTV videos on YouTube, and embed a player on our own website which will set a cookie.
  • We use Google Analytics to provide visitor statistics for the website. This will set a cookie on your computer, and this information is transmitted to Google on servers in the United States.
