Robert Nee: 1933-2020

It is with great sadness that Raith Rovers FC have learned of the passing of one of our former players.

Robert ‘Bob’ Nee signed from St Monans Swifts in June 1950.

Bob was a right half and had to fulfil his National Service duties while a signed player at Stark’s Park, which unfortunately curtailed his first team opportunities.

He made his first team debut against Dundee in February 1952, and was called up to the Army in December 1952 and posted to Japan. He was selected to play for the Army team on a tour of Korea.

When he returned to Stark’s Park, he made over 150 appearances for the Raith Rovers’ reserve team.

Last year, Bob visited Stark’s Park for the last time with his son and grandson, Gregor Nee, who is a former Rovers’ youth team player.

Everyone connected to Raith Rovers FC would like to send our condolences to Robert Nee’s family.
