Even though last season has only just ended The Raith Rovers matchday website team are already looking to recruit new volunteers to assist in maintaining the high standards of Raith Rovers’ online matchday offering.

The official club website provides a great insight to Raith Rovers on matchday; from regular visitors to Stark’s Park wanting to read about our matches to those who are unable to attend fixtures as regularly, tuning in to Rovers Abroad or following live updates on the website or on Twitter.

We pride ourselves on providing a quality, affordable service that is often commented on favourably by supporters and officials of other clubs with far greater media resources than ours.

To that end, we’d like to hear from you if you’ve an interest in the following volunteer roles:

Match Reporter

  • An obvious key requirement for the match reporter is being able to attend Rovers matches regularly. Other requirements that would be advantageous are:
  • Experience in match reporting/writing, although this is not essential, simply a passion for writing in a clear and concise style would be enough
  • Access to the internet, as match reports are uploaded on a Saturday night/Sunday morning

Match Updater

  • Attending matches on a regular basis, the match updater enters details of notable incidents in the match direct to the official Rovers website
  • These updates are simultaneously broadcast directly to Twitter (@RRFCLive), so good spelling and grammar are essential
  • Ownership of a smartphone (operating system: iOS or Android) is essential for this role

These are unpaid voluntary roles however; as a member of Raith Rovers Media team representing Raith Rovers professional standards of behaviour are expected of volunteers.

If you are interested, please email Niall Russell (Raith Rovers FC Matchday Content Co – Coordinator) direct at matchday@raithrovers.net, to discuss this informally.

Closing date is Friday 3rd July 2015
