Match Preview

Raith Rovers are on the road again again this Saturday, as they head to Greenock to face a Morton side who have yet to lose a league game this season.

Dougie Imrie’s team have drawn all four of their league matches this season, and go into this one on the back of an impressive one all draw against league leaders St Johnstone in Perth.

While Morton defended well to restrict The Saints chances, they came close to taking all three points after Eamonn Brophy’s goal of the season contender gave them the lead, only for Josh McPake to ensure the game ended all square with a late effort.

That was the former Scotland striker’s third goal in just five games since signing for Morton, and the Raith defence will need to monitor the man nicknamed The Wolf closely if they’re to bring all three points back to Kirkcaldy.

Indeed, it’s been a  while since Rovers registered a win against Morton at all, with Dougie Imrie’s side starting to become something of a bogey team since Rovers last won 2-1 at Cappielow back in October 2023, thanks to a brace from Aidan Connolly.

The sides have met six times since then, with four of the games ending all square and The Ton winning the other two.

The last meeting was at Stark’s Park in April, with Grant Gillespie opening the scoring for the visitors from the penalty spot midway through the first half.

However, despite a quick leveller from Josh Mullin, Rovers were unable to find a winner and the spoils were shared.

Saturday’s match referee will be Lloyd Wilson.

Head-To-Head Record:

Morton wins: 69

Raith Rovers wins: 51

Draws: 49
