Match Preview

Two of the Championship’s in-form sides go head-to-head at Stark’s Park on Tuesday night, as Raith Rovers and Livingston both look to overtake the sides directly above them in the league table.

Raith Rovers capitalised on Dundee’s defeat over the weekend, to close the gap between themselves and the Dens Park club to just one point. As coincidence would have it, Dundee’s conquerors on Saturday were tomorrows opponents, Livingston, and the West Lothian club have looked re-energised since former Raith manager John McGlynn took over first team affairs from Richie Burke last month, taking the side from bottom, to fifth, in a matter of weeks.

McGlynn has only tasted defeat once since he arrived at the Energy Assets Arena, taking 13 from a possible 18 points, with his side scoring 14 goals in the process. A win at Stark’s Park would see Livingston leapfrog Falkirk into fourth place.

For Rovers, now 9 league games unbeaten, a win would see them move 2 points clear of Dundee, and close the gap to league leaders Hamilton to a similar amount.

The teams last meeting meeting was on the final day of last season, when Raith won 3-2, finally ending a sequence of 7 league games without a win against Livi, a run that stretched back to March 2001.

In the last ten league meetings between the sides, Raith have won just twice, while Livingston have emerged with the three points on six occasions.
