Match Preview

After picking up four points in the last week, Raith Rovers will hope to keep their good run going, when Livingston visit Stark’s Park this weekend.

With both sides harbouring hopes hopes of a late promotion play-off push, it’s a vital match as they look to close the six-point-gap to fourth placed Queen of the South.

Raith go into the match on the back of their first clean sheet since January, after a 0-0 draw against Dundee on Tuesday evening. Livi’s last match was against the same opponents at the Energy Assets Arena, but goals from Peter MacDonald, and Kyle Benedictus, handed Dundee a 2-0 win.

Livingston’s form has been inconsistent since manager John McGlynn picked up January’s Manager-of-the-Month award, but their recent away form is impressive, with just one defeat, in their last seven away fixtures.

Gordon Smith’s goal gave Rovers a 1-0 victory in this fixture back in October, a result that lifted them to second in the table, but the return match at Livingston, saw the home side run out comfortable 3-0 winners, after goals from Martin Scott, Stefan Scougall, and an own-goal from Jason Thomson.

With six wins in the last ten meetings, Livingston have the upper-hand in this fixture, although Raith have come out on top in two of the last three.

Saturday’s match referee will be Mat Northcroft
