Match Preview:

The action returns to Stark’s Park this weekend for the first time since the beginning of January, as Raith take on Hamilton, looking to build on last weeks excellent Scottish Cup win over Hibernian.

Raith’s 3-2 win last weekend, means they can now look forward to a Quarter-Final tie against St Johnstone at the beginning of March, but their attention now returns to the league, as they look to close the gap between themselves, and third placed Hamilton Accies.

It’s a vital game for both sides, with sixth placed Raith now five points behind forth placed Queen of the South, while Hamilton’s 1-0 loss to Dundee last week, leaves them four points behind the Dens Park club, who now reside at the summit of the Championship.

It’s the third meeting between the sides this season, and Raith have yet to record a win over their South Lanarkshire opponents. Hamilton won 1-0 on the opening day of the season in August thanks to a James Keatings strike, and the same man put Hamilton ahead in the 1-1 draw in October, before Raith drew level thanks to a Calum Elliot penalty.

There’s nothing between the clubs in terms of the recent head-to-head record, with four wins each, and two draws from the last ten meetings.

Saturday’s match will be refereed by William Collum
