Match Preview:

Raith Rovers head to New Douglas Park on Tuesday evening, to take on a Hamilton side who have won five and drawn one of their last six matches, a run that’s kept them right in the title hunt.

As Raith were losing 4-2 at home to Livingston on Saturday, Alex Neil’s men were involved in their own high-scoring match, eventually coming out on top against Morton by the odd-goal-in-seven, thanks to a Louis Longridge hat-trick.

Not only are Hamilton one of the Championship’s form sides right now, they also have the best home record in the division, with nine wins and two draws from their fourteen home games this season.

Hamilton ran out convincing 4-2 winners at Stark’s Park last-month, a win that ended a run of 4 games without a win for the Accies. Raith have yet to defeat Hamilton in their three previous meetings this season, although Rovers did record a 1-1 draw in their previous visit to New Douglas Park back in October. If Hamilton avoid defeat on Tuesday evening, it’ll be the first time they’ve went unbeaten against Raith over the course of a season since the 2004-05 season.

The last ten meetings between the clubs sees Hamilton with a slight advantage, with five wins compared to Raith’s four. Hamilton’s biggest ever home win against Raith was a 6-1 victory in the League Cup in 1947, while Rovers highest away win was a 5-0 win in the First Division, back in March 1983.

Tuesday’s referee will be George Salmond.
