Match Preview

Raith Rovers will be looking to make it four games unbeaten this Saturday, when Morton are the visitors to Stark’s Park.

Last Saturday’s creditable 1-1 draw with Partick Thistle left Rovers seventh in the Championship table, four points clear of this week’s visitors who are eighth, two clear of relegation threatened Dunfermline who are in the playoff spot.

Morton also drew one all in their last league game, a televised clash against Ayr United last Friday, but a midweek loss to Livingston in the SPFL Trust Trophy means they’re now six games without a win in all competitions, with their last victory in the league a 2-0 win at Cappielow the last time these two sides met at the start of October.

Filip Stuparevic and  and Michael Garrity were the scorers that day, and the result meant Rovers have now gone three games without a win against Morton, failing to score in any of them.

Rovers last win in this fixture was just over a year ago, when an Aidan Connolly brace sealed a 2-1 win at Cappielow, while their last win over the Ton at Stark’s Park was the thrilling 3-2 encounter in August last year, when goals from Jack Hamilton, Lewis Vaughan and a late winner from Callum Smith eventually sealed all three points after Morton had come from two goals down.

Saturday’s match referee will be Dan McFarlane.

Head-To-Head Record:

Raith Rovers wins: 59

Morton wins: 68

Draws: 39
