Match Preview
Raith Rovers head to their near neighbours at East End Park this Friday evening, as they lock horns with Dunfermline Athletic for the second Fife derby of the season.
The sides go into this one in similar form, with both registering one win in their last five league games which coincidentally both wins coming against Arbroath.
That form has seen Rovers slip out of the playoff positions after last weekend’s 2-0 loss to Ayr United, while Neil Lennon’s side sit two places further back in seventh place, albeit they’ve played one game fewer than Barry Robson’s men.
These two last met at Stark’s Park in August, with Rovers running out comfortable 2-0 winners, thanks to an early striker from Lewis Stevenson, before another Lewis, Vaughan put the game beyond Dunfermline’s reach with an opportunistic striker in the 76th minute.
It means Raith have won the last two meetings between these sides, although the most recent games have all been won by the home side, with the last six meetings all seeing the hosts taking all three points.
Recent history also tells us that there will be a winner on the evening, with the last 10 league meetings all featuring a winner, with the last draw a 0-0 stalemate back at Stark’s Park in January 2022.
Friday evening’s match referee will be Nick Walsh.
Head-To-Head Record:
Dunfermline Athletic wins: 54
Raith Rovers wins: 51
Draws: 31
