Match Preview:

An exciting 2014 for Raith Rovers kicks off this Thursday, as they welcome Championship leaders Dundee to Stark’s Park.

It’ll be the fourth time that Raith have played their first-footers this season, and despite Dundee leading the way in the league, the head-to-head record between the clubs this season is split straight down the middle, with one draw and a win apiece.

Dundee go into the match as the Championship’s form side away from home, with five wins from their last six matches away from Dens Park. No-one has scored more goals than Dundee away from home either, with John Brown’s boys scoring seventeen goals in nine fixtures.

Raith Rovers are defending a good home record however, and have lost just once on their own turf, with that coming on the opening day of the league season to Hamilton.

With this one of just two Championship fixtures being played out before the weekend, Dundee will hope to extend their lead at the top of the table to five points, while Rovers are looking to leapfrog Falkirk into third.

Despite Dundee’s impressive record in this fixture, the history of the tie suggests it could be a tight game, with Dundee’s 2-0 win in November only the second occasion in eighteen games, where the game has been won by more than one goal.

In the last ten league meetings between the sides, Dundee have six wins to Raith’s solitary victory, a 2-1 win in April 2011.

Overall Head-to-Head Record at Stark’s Park:
