Match Preview
After three matches on the road, Raith Rovers return to Stark’s Park this weekend, as they welcome Ayr United to Kirkcaldy.
Scott Brown’s men currently sit second in the Championship table, eight points behind leaders Falkirk and above Livingston on goal difference, and go into this one on the back of a 3-0 win over Dunfermline last Saturday.
Raith also go into this one on the back of a 3-0 win last time out, with goals from Dylan Easton, Callum Fordyce and Josh Mullin sealing a comfortable win over Hamilton Accies.
This is the fifth meeting between the sides this season, with Ayr having the better of the meetings to date.
The Honest Men won 2-0 in the league at Somerset Park in August, and they won again in September at the same venue in the Challenge Cup despite Rovers racing into a two goal lead.
Callum Smith and Dylan Easton had Rovers in the driving seat after 18 minutes, but Ayr bounced back thanks to a brace from Anton Dowds and a winner from George Oakley.
Two goals from Lewis Jamieson sealed a 2-0 win for Rovers last time the two sides met at Stark’s Park in November, but it was a day to forget for Rovers fans the last time they met in January as Ayr ran out 3-0 winners.
Saturday’s match referee will be Chris Graham.
