Match Preview
After a last gasp defeat at Livingston on Saturday, Raith Rovers face two quick home games in succession, with the first on Tuesday evening, with Airdrieonians the visitors to Stark’s Park.
Saturday’s loss kept Rovers in eighth position in the table, two points behind Morton, and just three ahead of Rhys McCabe’s Airdrie side.
The Diamonds have been on their own poor run this season, with their one and only league win coming back on the opening day of the season against Raith.
It finished 1-0 on that occasion, with Dylan MacDonald the only scorer in a match of few chances.
That result left Rovers without a win over Airdrie in six attempts, which comes on the back of a sequence of 17 games unbeaten sequence for Rovers against the same opponents.
Rovers last win in this fixture was over four years ago, when an early goal from Ross Matthews was enough for Rovers to take all three points in a League One game in north Lanarkshire.
Tuesday evening’s match referee will be Nick Walsh.
Head-to-Head Record:
Raith Rovers wins: 19
Airdrieonians wins: 15
Draws: 12
