Match Preview
After a hiatus last weekend, Raith Rovers are back in action this Saturday, as they travel to Greenock to take on Morton.
The Cappielow side will have a familiar face in the dugout, after former Rovers manager Ian Murray took the managerial reins at the start of January, following Dougie Imrie’s move to Kirkcaldy.
His tenure didn’t get off to the best of starts, losing to Partick Thistle in his opening fixture before exiting the Scottish Cup following a heavy defeat to Stenhousemuir.
However, a hard earned point at Gayfield in awful conditions was followed by an impressive 2-1 win over a rejuvenated looking Ross County.
Those results leave The ‘Ton seventh in the table, one place and two points behind Raith, although they have played a game fewer.
If recent results are anything to go by, this will be a tight affair, with five of the last eight meetings ending in a draw, and that was the outcome the last time the sides met at Stark’s Park in November.
Jack Hamilton had given the home side the lead at the interval thanks to a goal late in the first half, however, a last gasp equaliser from Kris Moore meant both sides earned a point.
Rovers did take all three the last time they made the trip to Cappielow in September though, thanks to a goal from Dylan Easton, in a game where chances were at a premium.
Saturday’s match referee will be Iain Snedden.
Head-To-Head Record:
