Match Preview

After defeating Dunfermline 2-0 in the final Fife derby of the season, Raith Rovers will be hoping for more Friday success this weekend, when they head to Firhill this weekend.

Brian Graham’s Thistle side enjoyed their own 2-0 win over Ayr United on Saturday, extending their lead over Morton and Raith to seven points.

However, with the Jags having played a game more, Rovers will be hoping to exert some pressure on the final playoff spot, as the season reaches it’s closing stages.

After going six games without a win from the end of January to the end of February, a sequence which included a 3-0 drubbing at Stark’s Park, Thistle have regained their form of late, with two straight wins in the space of a week.

It extended Brian Graham’s impressive start as interim boss, with the former Rovers forward unbeaten since replacing Kris Doolan.

This will be the two sides fourth meeting this season, with Rovers taking seven points from a possible nine in the previous three.

Dylan Easton’s penalty was enough to hand Rovers all three points at Stark’s Park in August, and he scored again at Firhill in November with a far more spectacular effort, as Rivers came back to earn a point after an early opener from Graham.

It was a surprisingly straightforward win for Rovers in the last fixture between the two in February however, with a brace from Finlay Pollock and Easton again securing a 3-0 win for the Kirkcaldy side.

That win made it eight league games unbeaten against Thistle, with Rovers last loss in the league coming in March 2023.

Friday evening’s match referee will be Calum Scott.

Head-To-Head Record:

Partick Thistle wins: 70

Raith Rovers wins: 57

Draws: 42
