Today we have news that will, we are sure, be universally popular among the Raith Rovers support.

Promising young star forward Lewis Vaughan began this season with great things expected of him. His early season form was tremendous before he suffered a ruptured ACL during our League Cup match with Albion Rovers in August. Following knee surgery carried out by leading Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Steve Bollen at the Yorkshire Clinic, Lewis bravely faced an extended recovery and rehabilitation period under the expert and patient management of our Sports Therapist Stuart Phin and Club Doctor James Parris.

Lewis has now been discharged by Mr Bollen and is in the process of completing his return to full fitness. It is hoped he will feature in the first team during April (and hopefully May!).

Lewis is out of contract in May, however the club has moved to secure the talented 20 year old’s services for next season and he has today been offered and has signed a one year contract extension.

With two important home matches in the next 6 days, firstly against St Mirren on Saturday and then Queen of the South next Tuesday evening, this could be a pivotal week for the club’s immediate future and it is hoped that supporters will turn out in increasing numbers for these fixtures to give the team the strong vocal support that could make all the difference!
