Following the injury he sustained during last Saturday’s League Cup tie at home to Albion Rovers, an initial scan has unfortunately revealed that fans’ favourite Lewis Vaughan may need surgery to repair his damaged knee.

Due to continuing swelling at the joint, a full diagnosis has not yet been possible but there is concern that the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) has been damaged. The youngster will see a leading consultant as soon as swelling has settled sufficiently to allow an arthroscopy examination to determine the extent and nature of the knee damage. Only then will treatment be decided upon, and a clearer prognosis obtained.

Naturally, everyone at Stark’s Park is gutted for Lewis, and we wish him well for a full recovery.
