Raith Rovers are delighted to announce that promising Youth Academy graduate, 17 year old Lewis Vaughan has today signed an improved 3 year deal with the club. The extended contract means that Lewis has committed himself to Raith Rovers through to the summer of 2016.

Speaking after completing the paperwork, manager Grant Murray beamed, “Lewis is a terrific young man and a wonderful prospect. If he keeps his head down – as I am sure he will – and continues to learn his trade, I am absolutely certain he can go far in the game but for now I am very pleased that for now he has decided to commit to Raith Rovers. He has already made quite an impact in his first team performances to date, and I expect him to play an important role as the season progresses.”

The equally delighted player commented, “I’m really enjoying being at Raith Rovers. I’m learning all the time from the gaffer, Paul and Laurie and also from playing alongside the experienced pros in the team, and it’s also great that we now have first class training facilities at Glenrothes. I’m just so glad that previous manager John McGlynn offered me my first deal with the club on my 16th birthday. I’ve worked hard and now I’m really happy to be getting more and more first team involvement under the gaffer.”

Chief Executive Eric Drysdale added, “The board is very pleased that we’ve been able to persuade Lewis to complete his football development at Raith Rovers. He’s definitely got a great future and will no doubt go far, but for the foreseeable future we look forward to seeing his undoubted talents on display for this club.”
