Kyle Bow Signs For Raith Rovers
Raith Rovers FC are delighted to announce the signing of our newest Modern Apprentice.
Goalkeeper Kyle Bow (aged 16) has been training with the Rovers first team all of this season, having impressed John McGlynn and Paul Smith since pre-season training started.
A former Fife Elite FA player, Kyle came through the age groups with Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts FC, and has benefitted from training on a full – time basis with the Rovers first team.
His Modern Apprentice contract runs until June 2022, and he’ll be introduced to the Stark’s Park support at this afternoon’s match v Peterhead.
This is an excellent opportunity for Kyle to develop as a professional goalkeeper, working with Goalkeeper coach Dave McGurn and fellow ‘keepers Scott Thomson and Ross Munro.
Rovers manager John McGlynn said of his new protege “Kyle has been on our radar for sometime; he has been training with the first team, getting specialised Goalkeeping coaching from David McGurn and Robbie Thomson which has accelerated his improvement no end.
He turned 16 last November and we agreed we would offer him a Modern Apprenticeship in January 2020. He has shown a great attitude to work and a maturity beyond his years, he has a lot of potential to become a top Goalkeeper but he has to work even harder now to achieve his full potential”
Chairman of Kyle’s former club, Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts FC, Craig Reid added “At the U20s Kyle benefited greatly from being coached by Edward Spence, Greig Spence and Lee Wilson.
“Wee” Kyle learned a lot playing in a challenging but supportive environment at the Swifts and his excellent effort and attitude made him a dream to have at the club.
Kyle moving on to professional football at the age of 16 years old is testament to the clubs policy on player development and moving up at the right time!”
