The news regarding Jason Thomson is not great, but it could have been worse had he continued to play with the condition he has.

Jason has developed tendinopathy, an inflammation of the tendon below the knee. No surgery is required, but rest is. However, Jason is obviously a key player and the club is keen to do all it can to ensure his injury is resolved long term and he returns to full fitness as soon as possible. Jason will therefore receive shock wave therapy, a relatively new treatment that has had some notable successes with other athletes, and it is hoped that this will both improve his condition for the medium / long term AND lead to an earlier return to action than would otherwise have been possible.

Nevertheless, Jason will still remain sidelined for several weeks and we wish him well in his recovery.
