Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Raith Rovers
Saturday September 5th 2026
3:00 pm kick-off
Sarens PSG Stadium, Inverness
William Hill Championship
After experiencing their first defeat over 90 minutes last weekend, Raith Rovers will be looking to get back to winning ways this Saturday, when they head north to take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Despite going down by a goal to nil in the Fife derby, results on Saturday meant that Rovers retained their place in the top four, residing in third place ahead of Arbroath on goal difference and a point clear of fifth placed Livingston.
The Caley Jags also tasted defeat in the league for the first time, losing 3-1 to Stenhousemuir at Ovhilview, a result which brought to an end a run of three straight draws since returning to the second tier.
Scott Kellacher’s men now sit eighth in the table, but do boast a formidable home record, with their last defeat at the Caledonian Stadium coming way back in August last year, when Stenhousemuir were again the winners on the day.
Inverness were very much Raith’s bogey team down the years, with the Kirkcaldy club going a remarkable 32 games without a win over the side in 90 minutes, although that sequence does include two penalty shoot out victories, one in the League Cup and one in the Challenge Cup.
That run stretched from March 2001 to April 2023 and featured 23 defeats, but was finally ended thanks to Jamie Gullan’s late winner in September 2023.
Since then, Rovers have a enjoyed decent record against the side, with their two meetings last year ending in resounding 5-1 and 4-1 victories, with the latter enabling Rovers to lift the KDM Evolution Trophy at Firhill.
They’ve also come out winners on their last two trips to the Caledonian Stadium. December 2023 saw a dramatic late turnaround, with Lewis Vaughan scoring an equaliser in the 86th minute, before Gullan won it with an injury time penalty.
Their last meeting at the venue saw Raith score the only goal thanks to a Lewis Vaughan effort just after the interval.
Saturday’s match referee will be Lewis Hogarth.
