Defibrillator donated to RRFC
Raith Rovers FC are extremely grateful to lifelong supporter and Deputy Commandant of the Kirkcaldy / Glenrothes Company of St Andrews First Aid volunteer Lorraine Fairful for sourcing a replacement Defibrillator for the club to have on hand at all times in case of medical emergencies.
With Stark’s Park being used 7 days a week by the football club’s first team, Ladies teams and children’s and community groups, it is vital that this piece of equipment is on hand should it ever be needed.
The device sourced is a Heartsine Samaritan 500p AED Defibrillator, and will be available at the stadium for use in emergency situations.
Lorraine was at Stark’s Park yesterday to hand the vital piece of equipment over to RRFC Supporters Director Andy Mill, and told www.raithrovers.net “I was asked by the club how they could obtain a defibrillator. After consulting with St. Andrews HQ in Glasgow we found out that Barratt Homes had donated 30 defibs to be used in the communities that support good causes.
As First Aiders we understand the importance of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and how it can save a life. We saw that after what happened at Euro 2020 in the Denmark v Finland match – Cardiac Arrests can happen to people of any age.
We hope it will never need to be used, but knowing the club have a Defibrillator brings us all piece of mind”
Thanks Lorraine!
