Co-Operation Agreement
Raith Rovers Football Club can now confirm we have entered into a co-operation agreement with William Hill Premiership side Rangers.
This partnership follows the Scottish Football Association’s research into developing young, homegrown players in Scotland and the introduction of a new co-operation system to support that.
After positive discussions involving our Board of Directors, Barry Robson, John Potter, and our supporters, we believe this agreement offers a valuable opportunity to strengthen our squad, add depth for matchdays and training, and support the team’s aims for the season.
Technical Director, John Potter commented:
“With the agreement now in place, Barry, the recruitment team and I will be working hard to identify players who can make an immediate impact in the squad, including those recommended by Rangers.
Any addition will need to fit Barry’s vision for how we want to play, bring quality to the group, and contribute positively on and off the pitch.
This arrangement gives us another way to strengthen, and I’d like to thank everyone at Rangers who has been involved in the discussions.
We’re excited to work with them in the months ahead.”
Key Terms Of The Agreement:
– Rangers may nominate a maximum of three players to move freely between Rangers and Raith Rovers.
– Rangers will cover the full salary of any player who joins Raith Rovers.
– Eligible players must be under the age of 21 and qualified to represent Scotland.
– Raith Rovers can decline any player who is not deemed suitable for our squad.
– Raith Rovers are under no obligation to play any Rangers player as part of this agreement.
– This agreement does not replace the traditional loan system. Raith Rovers may still register up to six SPFL loan players if we choose to do so.
