Raith Rovers Football Club are delighted to have secured the signing of centre-back Callum Fordyce on a two-year deal, after the 31-year-old was announced at the end of last week to be leaving Airdrieonians.

Callum came through the Hibernian youth system before joining Livingston.

Starting in the Livingston Under-20 squad in 2011, he then broke into their first team, showing immediate talent and a strong work ethic.

After a short loan spell with Clyde, he played for Dunfermline and Queen of the South, racking up over 100 appearances across his time at the two clubs and chipping in with four goals and five assists.

Following his departure from The Doonhamers in 2019, he completed a move to Airdrieonians.

Callum brought extensive experience to the Diamonds’ defence, quickly making a strong impression on their supporters and winning the Player of the Year award in his first two seasons.

His impact on the field was evident, leading to a stint as club captain before transitioning to the player/assistant manager role in May 2022.

Callum was also deservedly inducted into the Airdrie Hall of Fame this year, after playing 200 times for the club and scoring ten goals.

Manager Ian Murray commented, I was surprised when it was announced Callum was leaving Airdrieonians, so we had to move quickly. I’ve worked with him before so know what type of guy he is and what he can bring to us.
I was very impressed with Callum’s season just finished and he’s an experienced player who will fit well into our plans. I look forward to working with him again.”

We are all extremely excited to have Callum join us at Stark’s Park.
