Rovers’ Boxing Day derby match at home to Cowdenbeath has been brought forward to Saturday 21st December with a 3.00pm kick off.

The Board has reluctantly agreed to the switch, which has been made for footballing and not financial reasons, following an initial request by our opponents. In making this decision we have taken account of the fact that our opposition on Saturday 28th December (Livingston) recently agreed to switch their Boxing Day match and had we not done likewise, two matches in 48 hours would have placed us at a disadvantage when we face John McGlynn’s men.

We fully recognise and regret that this may affect some supporters’ plans for the Festive Period and could have an adverse effect on our attendance when we play Cowdenbeath. We also appreciate that it will mean two home matches in the two Saturdays before Christmas when crowds in general tend to dip. However, we hope that supporters will understand that this rescheduling has been agreed for good footballing reasons.

Watch out for a special announcement on discounted admission prices for these two games, in due course.
