Raith Rovers have today lodged an appeal with the Scottish FA against the dismissal last night of centre half Dougie Hill, for alleged violent conduct towards Hearts player Jamie Hamill. In so doing, we wish to make it clear that we are making no criticism whatsoever of match referee Brian Colvin.

The Scottish FA will review the incident under the terms of its Judicial Panel Protocol, and pending the outcome, Dougie remains available for selection.

Neither the club nor the player will make further comment on this matter in the interim.
