Raith Rovers have agreed a deal for central midfielder Aaron Arnott to join Lowland League side East Kilbride until the end of the current season.
19-year-old Aaron came through the Fife Elite Football Academy, before signing as a Modern Apprentice in the 2020/21 season. In August 2021, he signed a year-long professional contract with the club, which was later extended until the end of the current 2023/24 season. Aaron’s only goal scored was a crucial one – a winner at Rugby Park that got Rovers to the 2021/22 SPFL Trust Trophy Final. In total, he has made 35 appearances and also recorded two assists.
Aaron’s move to South Lanarkshire opens up the opportunity for him to get regular first team football and contribute to his career development through the valuable experience.
The details of the loan deal will see Aaron continue training with the Rovers squad most of the week, and also allows Rovers to recall Aaron in January should the need arise.
Speaking exclusively to raithrovers.net about the move, Aaron said “I’m really excited to get the deal sorted as it’s an exciting club with good ambition. I’m looking forward to get going.”
